Shirley G. Hall

LEWISVILLE, TEXAS — Shirley G. Hall, 72, formerly of Aiken, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 24, 2026.

Born on January 18, 1954, in Sally, South Carolina, Shirley was the daughter of the late Cora Lee Williams Fannings and Macon Gaines.

Shirley devoted much of her life to caring for others. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at skilled nursing facilities in Aiken County and North Augusta. She also worked for Schofield Middle School Food Services, Variety Care Restaurant, SmithKline Beecham, and the University of South Carolina Aiken Food Services. A devoted homemaker, she often cared for family members and friends as a sitter.

Shirley spent many years in Shiloh Heights, Gloverville, and Aiken, South Carolina, raising her children and watching her family grow. In Gloverville, she attended Jesus Name Tabernacle Church and formed lasting friendships, especially with her lifelong best friend and sister in spirit, Francis “Fran” Jackson of Aiken.

She later moved to Oklahoma City to support her daughter’s military service and career. There, she made many friends who came to love her as a mother and grandmother. She eventually settled in Lewisville, Texas, where she lived until her passing.

Shirley enjoyed planting, working puzzles, shopping, cooking, and watching Live PD. Above all, she treasured time with her family and delighted in loving and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Lynon “PJ” Hall Jr.; her former husband and the father of her children, Lynon Hall Sr.; her sister, Wanda Robinson; her brother, Arthur James Fannings; and her parents.

Shirley leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Armetha Hall of Oklahoma City and Selena “Missy” (Calvin) Simmons of Lewisville; her siblings, Dennis Fannings, Martha “Sue” Mosely, and Edward Fannings, all of Aiken; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Her grandchildren include LaQuana “Quana” Hall, Dexter Hall, Chantel “Christina” Robinson, Aaron (Nicole) Hall, Yasmine “Yas” Hall and Cameron Shelton, Alexandria “Bootnie” Simmons, Cameron Corley, Jaelyn Smith, and the additional children of her late son, Lynon “PJ” Hall Jr.Her great-grandchildren include NaKiyah Hall, Allura Hall, Gracelyn Hall, Addilyn Hall, Saleen Abdulahi, Silas Abdulahi, Preston Hall, Cayson Hall, and Mylo Richmond.Shirley will be remembered for the care she gave so freely, the friendships she made wherever she lived, and the love she shared with her.
