Dora Jean Terrall-Lewis

April 10, 1945 — August 4, 2025

Dora Jean Terrall-Lewis was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, on April 10, 1945 to Mary Pierce Terrall (Percy) and Herbert Johnson. She "entered into the presence of the Lord" on August 4, 2025 embracing her faith in God; "that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:8).

Under the leadership of her childhood pastor, Rev. Albert King at St. Hurricane Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, at an early age Dora confessed her faith in God and was baptized. As

Inspirational Choir, and started the Youth Choir (now known as the Albert King Singers), she was a dedicated member of the Women Mass Choir of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. In 1985, she united with Breath of Life Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas serving under the guidance of Rev. Kerry Price. It was there her hunger grew for greater understanding of the Word of God was born, compelling her to enroll in Breath of Life School of Theology. Dora became the class valedictorian of her theology class, in addition to being a faithful and active member until her relocation to Dallas, Texas in 1996.

She joined FMM Life Ministries under the leadership and guidance of her daughter, Rev. Dr. Sonia

C. Blackwell, not only did she teach Sunday School, Mrs. D as she was affectionately called, became the evangelistic catalyst for the mass baptism of over 75 children plus parents being baptised at one time. She grew to embrace the Mother's Board while serving as President of the Usher Board, and Church Photographer.

Dora never met a stranger and lived by the motto "God and Family". Dora was a true gift from God on earth to so many. She was a listening ear to many, an enforcer to some, a teacher, and her favorite role, a recruiter for God.

Dora was preceded in death by her parents; grandson (James Clayton Blackwell); grandparents (Cassie Pierce McCraney and Lloyd Pierce Sr.); brothers (Percy Terrall, Harold Terrall, Theotis Terrall, Eugene Terrall, and Herschel Terrall); sisters Dorothy Jean Terrall (her twin sister), Doris Lee Terrall Caldwell, and Earnestine Johnson, half-sister ); uncles (Rev. Robert C. Pierce, Lloyd Pierce Jr, Johnny Pierce, Harold Pierce, and Willie Pierce); aunts (Elnora Pierce Howlett, Magdalene Pierce Mitchell, and Irene Pierce); and god-son (Aaron Johnson).

Dora leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Rev. Dr. Sonia C. Blackwell (John); her sons, Reginald L. Gulley (Jon) and Patrick McClinton; grandson, Pastor Joshua C. Blackwell; sister, Iris L.

Morton (Johnny); brother (Roscoe Terrall); Sister-In-Law (Jurleen Scott Terrall); her twin sister's daughter (Gwendolyn R. Sampson); cousin/sister (Rita C. Pierce); god-grandchildren (Maruice Wooten, Marcus Jackson, and Camden English); nieces, nephews, a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, friends, and an entire community....
