Dalevin Kathleen Crockett, 71, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born Dalevin Kathleen Snodgrass on July 16, 1955, she was the daughter of Dale Snodgrass and Katherine “Kathy” Metzger Snodgrass. She was a lifelong resident of St. Joseph, Missouri, and a proud graduate of Benton High School, Class of 1973. St. Joseph was the place she called home throughout her life, and it remained an important part of her story.
Dalevin was a kind and compassionate woman whose caring nature was especially evident in her lifelong love of animals. Throughout her life, she had a special place in her heart for animals, especially those in need of rescue. She believed every animal deserved love, kindness, and a safe place to call home. Her compassion for animals was more than a passion; it was a reflection of the caring heart she carried throughout her life.
During the final six weeks of her life, Dalevin left her beloved hometown of St. Joseph to be with her daughter and granddaughters in Texas. Those final weeks brought her close to the family who loved her dearly and gave them precious time together.
Dalevin is survived by her daughter, Megan Crockett, and her two granddaughters, London Kuntz and Penelope “Poppy” Kuntz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Katherine Snodgrass.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Friends of the Shelter in St. Joseph, Missouri, in honor of Dalevin’s lifelong love and compassion for animals.
