Charles “George” Earl Jones

Charles “George” Earl Jones, 78, of Cedar Hill, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

Born on July 19, 1948, in Rockwall, Texas, to Gertrude Jones Hill and Brady King Hill, George lived a full and meaningful life. After dedicating decades to hard work, he eventually embraced retirement and enjoyed the things that brought him the most happiness—spending time with family and friends, playing pool and dominoes, watching classic Westerns, and cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys.

George was a man of few words, but when he spoke, his sense of humor had a way of making people laugh. His quiet presence, quick wit, and genuine spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

George leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Berthine Jones, along with a host of loving family members and friends.

In lieu of a funeral service, a Memorial Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 12:00–2:00 PM at ARC at McCowan Park, 1400 Academy Way, DeSoto, TX 75115.

Family and friends are invited to come together to remember George, celebrate the life he lived, and share the memories that will keep his spirit alive.
